Residents around the Shasa market in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State have deserted their homes for being attacked following Thursday’s alleged killing of a Yoruba shoe maker by a Hausa load carrier (Mai barrow).
The deceased cobler identified as Koree who lived at Onikankain in Ibadan was allegedly hit with a charm by the Hausa man at the Tomato section of the Shasa market on Thursday.
The shoemaker reportedly slumped and spewed saliva before he was rushed to the University Hospital, Ibadan where he was confirmed dead .
The cobbler’s death generated fresh crisis between traders in the market with a significant number of traders fleeing the market as a result of reprisal on Friday morning.
, Another person was reportedly killed while several shops were razed.
The joint security outfit, Operation Burst, set up by the state government was said to have mobilised to the area
