The Chairman,All Progressives Congress APC Registration and Revalidation Panel for Akwa Ibom state, Senator Abubakar Geiri,has revealed that the office of the president for 2023 general election has been zoned to the South
The lawmaker who disclosed this during the kick off of the registration and revalidation exercise in Uyo also said that President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Chairman of the party were aware of the plan to return the Presidency to the South .
The Senator who was represented by the Secretary of the Panel, Mr Sheriff Banki, said he was duly permitted by the APC leadership to inform the people about the decision to zone the Presidency to the South
” In 2023, the Presidency is coming back to the South, Iam not saying this by myself. I have the authority of Mr President,I have the authority of the national chairman of the party to tell you that the presidency is coming back to the south.So with this, the ball is now in your court”
He urged the people to come out enmasse to register for APC and vote in all the elections ahead to ensure victory of the party .
Geiri commended the Akwa Ibom people for coming out to register in such a way that ” all the registration centres in all the units have almost exhausted their registration documents” adding that more forms would be made available from now till Wednesday and said the large turn out was the foundation needed ” for APC to take over Akwa Ibom come 2023″
