Four people were burnt to death, while 10 others escaped in an accident that occurred on Sunday morning at Atoyo ,along Ijebu-Ode / Benin Expressway.
The incident reportedly happened after the driver of a 14 seater bus travelling on high speed, disobeyed traffic warning lost control and rammed into the bush hitting a tree.
The vehicle burst into flames burning 4 out of the 14 passengers on board.
It was gathered that a tanker laden with Black Oil was was discharging its contents on the road due to leakage and the driver had to stop when his attention was drawn to the leakage.
In an effort to avoid any problem, the traffic officials in the area had to reroute traffic so that vehicles would not have contact with the spilled content which had covered a good section of the road.
The driver of the bus allegedly ignored the warning at the diversion point and chose to drive on the Black Oil.
The vehicle lost control and skidded off the road into the bush hitting a tree,. and then in a blaze, burnt 4 passengers to death.
