President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the fatal crash of Nigerian Airforce (NAF) Beechcraft King Air B350 aircraft on Sunday, in Abuja, which claimed the lives of seven military personnel.
The President made his feelings known in a condolence statement issued by his spokesman, Femi Adesina in Abuja on Sunday.
Buhari extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, friends and colleagues of those who died as a result of the tragedy.
He joined the Nigeriian AirForce, the Military and other Nigerians in mourning the unfortunate loss of the dedicated and courageous personnel who died in the line of duty.
Buhari noted that while investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, the safety of the Nigeriian airspace remains a key priority of the government.
The NAF Beechcraft King Air B350 crashed on Sunday while returning to Abuja after reporting engine failure enroute Minna, the Niger state capital.
It was gathered that the aircraft was on an air surveyance mission before the incident happened.
Last Wednesday, Bandits invaded the Government Science College Kagara in Rafi local government area of Niger state killing a student and abducted 27 students.and 15 others.
The incident had elicited a number of military actions and individual intervention.
The Airforce in a statement in Abuja said Investigation is ongoing begun to unravel the circumstances that led to the crash and asked Nigeriars to remain calm
