The crisis in Imo involving a former governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and incumbent governor, Hope Uzodinma appears to linger as blame game goes on between the warring parties.
The former governor and serving senator,Rochas Okorocha on Tuesday, addressed his supporters where he made it known that Uzodinma was embarking on thuggery in governance.
Okorocha who recalled the incident of Sunday where he was arrested for what the state government said was a conspiracy and breach of public peace , said he never expected that the governor would do such a thing .
He said the governor is derailing to a direction which might not end well with him, adding that Imo is insecure for the first time in 9 years.
” I never expected that a governor of a state can embark on a thuggery at this level. Now what I want to say to all of you is that governor Hope Uzodinma is going a very wrong direction that he might not end up well with
Now ,Hope Uzodinma, for what happened yesterday has simply displayed thuggery in governance, and is creating unnecessary tension where there is no need for it. Imo today is very insecure for the first time since nine years.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Uzodinma had told newsmen that he had no personal problem with his predecessor saying what played out was between his governmentt and Okorocha even as he noted that those aggrieved by the decisions of the state could have resorted to taking legal action instead of taking the laws into their hands.
