The first batch of Covid-19 vaccines has arrived the country.
The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccines arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on Tuesday at noon via Emirates Airline.
The Oxford/ AstraZeneca vaccine was recently approved by the National Agency For Food and Drugs Control NAFDAC for use in the country after it was subjected to clinical trial by the Agency.
The Presidential Task Force PTF on Covid-19 had on Saturday rekindled the hope of Nigeriars to arrival of the vaccines late February.
But on Saturday,PTF Chairman,Boss Mustapha disclosed that the first batch of the 4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines would arrive on Tuesday.
Meanwhile some members of the PTF including the chairman,Boss Mustapha,Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire, Director General of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC,Chikwe Ihekweazu and the Minister of Information and Culture,Lai Mohammed were on ground to receive the vaccines.
