Kano Government had shut down Harbau Tsangaya Model Boarding Primary School in Tsanyawa local government area of the state due to insecurity.
In a statement in Kano, the Public Relations Officer,Kano State Qur’an and Islamiyyah Schools Management Board,Aminu Turaki, said the shutting of the school was of immediate effect.
He called on parents and guardians to pick their children and wards from the school as soon as possible.
The state government had last weekend shut 12 boarding secondary schools and four tertiary institutions for the same reason.
Turaki noted that most of the schools are either located on border or highways prone to abduction and said the decision to close the schools followed the recent abduction of some female boarding students in Zamfara State.
He added that the school’s reopening date would be communicated to parents and guardians.
