The Secretary to the Governmentt of the Federation,Boss Mustapha says, those who hesitate to have their vaccine shots should have a rethink as very soon, vaccine cerificate would be a requirement for travel around the world.
Mustapha disclosed this on Saturday during the vaccination of President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice,Yemi Osinbajo at the State House,Abuja.
He said though he had not confirmed the development, yet he was reliably informed that some countries have begun putting restrictions without Covid-19 vaccine certificate.
The SGF who is also the Chairman Presidential Task Force PTF on Covid-19, urged eligible Nigerians to avail themselves of the opportunity for vaccination when it is their turn to take it adding that they should not listen to any form of misinformation as the vaccines are safe.
“I think vaccine hesitancy would have to give way now to reality.because the truth about it is that very soon nobody would be able to travel the world unless you produce the certificate that you have been given.
“I have not confirmed but reliably, some countries have started putting restrictions or receiving visitors even for exercising activities of their faith without a Covid-19 vaccination certificate.
“So the word that is going out there on behalf of Mr President is that Nigeriars should make themselves available, those that are eligible in the first set of deployment because the deployment is going to be in 4 phases to receive this vaccines they have been tested, our most strategic leadership have received them this morning, they are safe, they are efficacious, and it’s for the good and wellbeing of our people.” he said.
Mustapha thanked President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo for the leadership provided and urged Nigerians to shun conspiracy theories about the vaccines and not to listen to any misinformation but make themselves available as eligible Nigerians to receive the vaccines when it is their turn to do so.
He said very soon unauthorized vaccines would make their way into the nooks and crannies of the country and reposed confidence in the ability of the Ministry of Health and NAFDAC to check it.
