Kwara state capital, Ilorin, on Wednesday morning, had disruptions following the decision by officials of Baptist School, Surulere to disallow students wearing hijab into the school.
The schools were shut down last month by the state government over controversy on the use of hijab by female Muslim students.
It was gathered that the decision to disallow the students in hijab resulted in friction between muslims and christian parents .
The security operatives stationed in the area reportedly reinforced and dispersed the warring parties with tear gas.
The schools which are Christian schools are said to be facing ownership tussle at the Supreme Court after the lower court and Appeal court had affirmed that the state had the right over the schools .
