Tanzanian authorities have announced the death of President John Magufuli .
The Vice President, Sania Suluhu Hassan said in an address on Television that Magufuli died on Wednesday from heart complications at a hospital in Dar es Salaam.
Her statement reads’ It is with derp regret that I inform you that today, we lost our brave leader, the president of the Republic of Tanzanian, John Pombe Magufuli.”
Hassan said there would be 14 days of national mourning and flags would fly at half mast .
Magufuli was declared president in October 2015
Rumours of his death had spread like wildfire in the social media however,governmentt officials dismissed the development as lies.
The opposition had alleged that the late President suffered from Covid-19 complications but that has not been confirmed by the country’s health officials.
