Zamfara State Governor,Bello Matawalle says he has no links with bandits or any criminal groups.
To this end, the governor has taken an oath with the holy Quran to prove his Innocence.
The governor who was speaking at a forum in Gusau challenged others who had held positions since the inception of the state to do the same to restore the confidence of the people in governance.
He said” the issue of insecurity is for all of us and we shouldn’t politicise it.I have sworn with the Quran that if I am part of or knew anybody who is connected to this or with my hand or any of my family,may Allah don’t give me a second in this life.
Matawalle also directed members of his cabinet to do same on Friday ,in order to fish out those behind the banditry activities.
The Zamfara government had only recently ,been under the close watch of the Buhari government over alleged aiding of banditry in the state and border towns.
Following the escalation of kidnapping and alleged gold mining, the Federal Government on March 2, 2021,declared a no- fly zone on Zamfara State and also banned mining activities.
With the Federal Government”s ban, It was gathered that it has become somewhat difficult for illegal gold mining and mining of other mineral resources to thrive and fly them away without security operatives apprehending those caught in the act.
