Two persons have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping and killing a woman and her son.
The state Police Public Relations Officer ,,DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed in a statement that the victims were killed for ritual purposes
Oyeyemi identified the suspects as Baoku Gbuyi (29) a herbalist, and Olamide Odulaja ( 27) a bricklayer.
He said the arrest followed a report received at Ijebu Igbo division, from the victim’s husband,who reported that his wife and son went out and never returned and all to locate their whereabouts proved abortive.
Oyeyemi disclosed that during interrogation, the suspect Olumide confessed to the crime, saying he connived with a herbalist to kidnap the woman and her son who they later killed in the home of the herbalist for money ritual
Olumide was quoted as saying “It was the herbalist who burnt the woman’s head which he used for him.
Oyeyemi said upon his confession, detectives went after the said herbalist who resides at Arararomi Jaoara, Ijebu Igbo where they discovered that he fled on hearing the arrest of Olumide.
The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun had ordered immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further Investigation and prosecution.
