A 200 student of Federal University of Otuoke ( FUO), Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has committed suicide over suspected depression.
The student identified as Don Zedna( History and Diplomacy hanged himself in his room on Monday morning when not one was around.
The Public Relations Officer of FUO, Ms Mercy Ekort, confirmed the incident, saying that Zedna’s body had been retrieved by his family
When contacted, the Spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command,SP Asinim Butswat, said the command had not received report on the incident
He however, promised to confirm the incident from the Divisional Police Officer of Kolo who is in charge of the area.
The President of the Student Union Government,of FUO,Mr Kojo Debekeme who confirmed the incident alleged that the deceased student committed the act owing to pressure from his family over some issues.
Zedna was said to have left a suicide note expressing frustration,as a result of pressure from his kit and kin.
It was learnt that his remains have been buried in line with Ogbia tradition
