A Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital on Friday, remanded a priest,Abdulrasak Al- Sulati, popularly called” Kewulere,,” for allegedly killing one Sumo Usman for money ritual.
Al- Sulahi was charged to court on a two count charge of Criminal Conspiracy and Culpable Homicide contrary to Sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code.
The Presiding Magistrate, Afusat Alege,ruled that the defendant should be kept in Oke- Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin.
She then adjourned the case to March 29, for further mention.
Police report had stated that the defendant,conspired with one Sheidu Mumini,Isiaka Dauda and Suleiman Usman to kill the deceased, and cut off his hands and head for money ritual.
Sgt. Issa Abubakar,the Police Prosecuting counsel said Investigation is ongoing and prayed the court to order the remand of the defendant in custody
According to him, the offence against the defendant is culpable homicide which is not ordinarily bailable.
Counsel to the defendant, Adam Abdulrahman , prayed the court to disapprove the prayer of the prosecutor on the ground that the offence against his client were mere allegations.
