A group known as Nka Ikemesit Mkparawa Essien Efik Duob- Eba, has given the leader of Igbo community, Eze Ndigbo, one week to leave Calabar or face dire consequences.
The Eze-Ndigbo was accused by the group of insulting the Obong of Calabar and claiming to be the Obong of Calabar.
A statement signed by the Chairman,Ekpo Ekeng,Vice Chairman,Adim Ekpenyoung Adim. Secretary, Ekpenyoung Bassey Ekpenyoung and Assistant Secretary, Christy Edem Bassey Edem, and made available to newsmen on Thursday, reads
” For insulting the Obong of Calabar, calling yourself or making yourself the Obong of Calabar, when Obong of Calabar is on the throne,we give your 7 days to leave the town.
The incident reportedly occurred on the 27 th of March during the award presentation to Innoson Motors at the University of Calabar Convocation ceremony.
