The new Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has been decorated with his new rank by the Vice President,Yemi Osinbajo.
The decoration which followed the approval of appointment of Baba as the new Acting Inspector General of Police by President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday,took place at the Vice President Conference Hall, State House, Abuja on Wednesday
The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi who made this known to State House Correspondents said the appointment was with immediate effect.
The ceremony was attended by some top Government officials including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,Boss Mustapha, Former IGP, Mohammed Adamu, Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, and media Aide to the Vice President,Laolu Akande.
Baba is expected to be in acting capacity until his appointment is confirmed by the Senate.
