Two Chinese miners who were kidnapped by gunmen on April 5 at a gold mine site at Ifewara, Atakunmosa West Local Government Area of Osun State have been rescued by the state police command.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola said the kidnapped persons, Zhao Jian 33 and Wen 50 were rescued at about 9.p.m on Wednesday.
Opalola recalled that the state Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode had drafted a combined reinforcement of Police Tactical Units,JTF , and other security outfits to search and rescue the kidnapped victims.
She said in line with that the Chinese nationals were rescued unhurt
According to her, efforts are ongoing to arrest their Kidnappers while she added that the CP had enjoined members of the public to provide the police with credible information as it would help in forestalling futture incidents.
On Wednesday, the Kidnappers had put forward a N10MILLION ransom for the release of the release of the Chinese nationals.
However,no mention had been made of any ransom paid before their release.
