The Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has removed the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio as leader of the party.
The party disclosed this at the second stakeholders meeting in Uyo
The Chapter in a communique said that going by its constitution, the state chairman is the leader of the party caucus in the state.
The communique reads” That the Party hereby reminds every member and the general public that the State Chairman ( or Caretaker Chairman as applicable here) is the Chairman of the State Caucus as provided for in Article 1,2.9 Sub(1) of the party Constitutiion ( October 2014),As Amended) and remains the party leader in the State until further notice”.
The Chapter also declared null and void meetings of factional leaderships .
The move it said was to bring peace and sanity to the party ahead of 2023 general elections .
