Former First Lady of the Republic of Chad, Hinda Deby Itno has fled the country with her children to Yaounde, Cameroun.
Hinda fled the country on Tuesday following the assassination of her husband, President Idris Deby in a suspected coup d’etat.
The wife of the president reportedly crossed the Chad- Canerounian border with the help of French secret service officers operating in Chad.
President Paul Biya was said to have offered the late president’s wife protection and security in the interest of Derby’s children.
Meanwhile, Chadian rebels have rejected the transition government led by one of Derby’s son, Mahamat Derby Itno and threatened to continue with the onslaught
The Presidency has slated state funeral of Derby for Friday.
