
President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority,Hadiza Bala Usman.
A statement on Thursday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President,Garba Shehu said She has been replaced by Mohammed Bello Koko.
Koko, until his appointment was the Executive Director in Charge of Finance and Administration of the NPA.
Accordiing to Shehu, Bala Usman’s suspension followed approval of the recommendation of the Ministry of Transportatlion for the setting up of an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the Management of the NPA.

The spokesman said the panel will be headed by the Director, Maritime Services of the Ministry while the Deputy Director,Legal of the Ministry will serve as Secretary.Other members of the panel will be appointed by the Minister.
The President had in January reappointed Bala Usman for second and final term in office, six months before the expiration of her first term.
The reappointment triggered controversy with lawyers describing it as unconstitutional..

Bala Usman was a frontline member of the Bring Back Our Girls ( BBOG) She was appointed as Managing Director of the NPA in July 2016 .
