Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has condemned the recent attack on police formations in the srate by gunnen who he said ” are bent on plunging Nigeria into another unwarranted crisis”
Gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB had on Friday night, stormed three police formations in two local government areas of the state killing 7. Police officers.
Reacting to the attack, Wike through a statement on Saturday by his media aide, Kelvin Ebri said that no amount of intimidation will make the state succumb to any secessionist agenda.
The governor who presided over an emergency security meeting on Saturday said” the security council has taken measures to secure the state”.
The attack on Friday comes barely a month after gunnen killed 5 soldiers, policemen and custom officers in Ikwerre and Abua/ Odual Local Government Area of the state thereby triggering the imposition of night curfew in all entry and exit points of the state.
