A Non Governmental Organisation,
The Secure Nigeria First Initiative, (SNFI), has pledged support to Nigerian Army operations and advocated for peaceful Nigeria.
The group led by its President, Mr Usman Paul, stated this when they visited the Army headquarters in Abuja.
The President, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Media and Cinematography, Prince Edward Godswill, said that the team in partnership with other members of the organisation in the diaspora are concerned over the level of insecurity, which has affected businesses in the country.
He said the security situation in the country is of great concern to the youths and their Chinese partners, who are involved in construction contracts in the country..
The group pledged to contribute their quota towards ensuring a safe society for all.
While congratulating the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Maj Gen Faruk Yahaya, for a well-deserved appointment, the team leader added that the organization has been able to establish a mutual relationship with the Chinese Interdepartmental Committee to assist the NA in ensuring the security and protection of lives of citizens and foreigners doing business in Nigeria.
Responding, the COAS represented by the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Maj Gen AB Omozoje, thanked the team for the patriotic move to support the NA in ensuring a safe and secured nation.
He informed the team that all issues regarding the defence and security of the nation is being considered by the government agencies, adding that several engagements are ongoing to bring issues relating to insecurity under control.
The COAS assured the team that the NA is up and doing in ensuring that law abiding citizens are adequately protected and to bring the security challenges under control.
The Army Boss added that the NA is committed to its constitutional responsibility despite the enormous challenges caused by insecurity.
He commended the NGO for its interest in ensuring a secured Nigeria, assuring them that all forms of criminality will be history in no distant future.
