A Federal High Court on Tuesday in Abuja presided by Justice Binta Nyako has ordered the remand of self acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra( IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu in DSS custody
The order followed request by the Federal Government to detain Kanu in DSS facility
Justice Nyako also granted application for accelerated hearing to July 26 and 27 from the initial October 20,2021 date
The Buhari government in 2017, proscribed IPOB and declared it a terrorist organization.
Kanu was arrested before the government ban and jailed but was released after satisfying bail conditions He however,jumped bail and fled to the United Kingdom where he reportedly orchestrated and unleashed series of attacks on parts of the country through the banned parent organisation IPOB and its creation, the Eastern Security Network ESN.
Kanu was said to have been intercepted on Sunday in the UK by a joint security team comprising the INTERPOL, the DSS and others.
