Jigawa Government says it is determined to ensuring that all key socio -economic development projects and programs are fully funded and completed by the beginning of 2023 fiscal year without having to bequeath unnecessary huge contractual commitments and liabilities.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Public Relations, Habibu Nuhu Kila, the State Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports and culture. Alhaji Bala Ibirahim, disclosed the development while briefing newsmen after the state executive council meeting.
“The council has noted with satisfaction that, preliminary assessment of implementation of 2021 budget as at the end of the month of June has indicated a very satisfactory performance with optimistic scenario of greater performance.
“The council has also noted and considered that based on a review of revenue inflow during the first half of the year and other fiscal information, it has been projected that more income would accrue into the state consolidated revenue fund than earlier projected.
“The State Executive Council therefore, considered and approved a proposal of supplementary budget for onward submission to the state House of Assembly for further legislative action.
” Also approved by the council is the award of contract for the reconstruction of the damaged section of Darai- Gilima road at the cost of Two Hundred and Ninety One Million, Thirty One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Three Naira, Seventy Six Kobo. The statement added.
