The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has released the list of successful candidates for the Anambra Governoship election scheduled for November 6 with the name of the frontline All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA candidate,Chukwuma Soludo conspicuously missing.
No candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP was listed by the Electoral body
The absence of the PDP on the INEC list may not be unconnected with the decision of A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, ordering INEC to suspend publishing any name as the governorship candidate of the PDP in the forth coming general elections.
Ruling in an exparte application filed by an aspirant laying claim to the Party’s ticket, Justice Yusuf Halihu directed INEC to maintain the status quo by not publishing any name as the party’s candidate pending the determination of the suit..
However, the commission cleared Chukwuma Umeoji, the candidate of the Factional APGA leadership.
