The Lagos state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has launched new offensive against oil pipeline vandals.
Lagos Commandant, Eweka Okoro, says in a statement to newsmen that enough is enough.
Commandant Eweka warns all oil pipelines’ vandals to relocate out of Lagos, saying that the Corps will not tolerate any form of economic sabotage in the state.
“The protection of lives and property and our critical national Assets and infrastructure belonging to the Federal, State and Local Government are very important to us at any given time”.
Eweka further said that the government is also in dare need of revenue now and can’t allow any form of sabotage to thrive in the land.
He noted that the new administration of the Commandant – General (CG) Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has spelt out the new policy of the Corps, which is to rejig, revamp , re – invigorate and reposition the Corps.
He also keyed into the vision in order to ensure that through it the security of lives and property is guaranteed in the state.
In another development, the Lagos Commandant, Eweka Okoro, confirmed to newsmen in an interview the arrest of a white truck, with plate number ( MUS – 385XK LAGOS), containing about 24,000litres of (PMS) by the combined team of NSCDC , NAVY AND DSS on the right of way, in Baruwa Area, of Alimosho LGA in Lagos.
“The suspected vandals took to their heels, while the truck has been brought to the Lagos State Command Headquarters and necessary investigation and legal action will be taken accordingly” the Commandant stated.
Eweka says that the NNPC has been alerted and informed to come for evacuation because of the inflammable nature of the content in it.
