The Olanada Community Secondary School, in GRA, Obio Akpo local government area now has a library facility to enhance the reading habit of the students there.
The Rotary International District 9141 Governor Andy Uwejeyan while commissioning the library facility built by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom, said the effort will go a long way in supporting basic education and literacy among the students.
The DG of Rotary International District 9141 Andy Uwejeyan frowns that the reading culture in children has been over taken by the social media activities. He called for the judicious use of the library.
The Rotary International leader also called on the school authorities to maintain the facility and ensure the purpose will be utilized.
On his part, the President of the Rotary club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom Warisenibo Sofiri-Dappa said the club is optimistic that the library will boost the reading and writing skills of students in the school.
Warisenibo Sofiri Dappa who will be officially installed as the President of the Rotary Club Rebisi Kingdom on the 31th of July at the Tana event center GRA, said the project is in fulfillment of the Rotary area of focus on Literacy and Basic Education.
Principal of the Community Secondary School Olanada Reginal Olisa express joy that teachers in the school will also benefit from the library facility as it will enhance their teaching skills. She said it’s the first time the school will own a library facility through the benevolent of Rotary International.
Even the joy of the students both in the junior and senior classes, of the Olanada Community Secondary School, in GRA, Obio Akpo local government, knows no bound as they are elated over the donation of the library facility in their school for the first time by the nonprofit making organization, Rotary Club Rebisi Kingdom. They thanked the club for the gesture.
Our correspondent reports that the Rotary District Governor Andy Uwejeyan also promised to quip the library with computer sets, more books, a white marker board and fans for comfort in the library facility.
