The Department of State DSS on Monday presented in court eight out of 12 aides of Yoruba agitator Sunday Adeyemo alias Igboho
Justice Obiora Eguatu of the Federal High Court Abuja had last sitting ordered the DSS to produce all 12 detained aides in court.
The aides were arrested on July 1 during a raid on Igboho’s home by officials of the DSS .
A lawyer to the aides Pelumi Olajengbesi said the fundamental rights of the aides were being infringed on as his clients had remained underground for weeks..
He described the failure of the DSS to produce the applicants in court as” an aparent affront on the authority of the court which was not justifiable.”.
He prayed the court to mandate the DSS to produce the remaining 4 applicants in court at the next adjourned date of August 4.2021.
