Jigawa State Government will continue to provide qualitative education through investment in infrastructure, human development and improving student’s welfare by building more hostels for the State own university and offering scholarships to students, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar says.
Governor Badaru stated this at the opening ceremony of the first National Conference ‘Covid-19 Pandemic, Educational attainment and Labour Productivity’. Organized by the School of Preliminary Studies,Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa.
A Statement by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Public Relations,Habibu Nuhu Kila quotes the Governor as saying that that, ” Education must be tied to the needs of the society” and therefore commended the University for organizing the conference.
Governor Badaru said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Jigawa State continued to pay workers salary and pension as and when due.This according to him, is in the sprit of accountability, placement of priority and culture of savings as one of the cardinal principles of his administration.
He said in the last six years Jigawa State invested hugely in completing inherited projects as well as initiated new ones and also facilitated numerous other projects and interventions from the Federal Government and its agencies in which the Governor appreciates and thank President Muhammad Buhari for his support.
