Nigerian Guild of Editors ( NGE) led by its President, Mustapha Isah on Friday afternoon paid condolence visit to the Family and Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Published of the Nigerian Tide, employer of Late Mrs Juliet Tokunengiyeofori Njiorwhor .
Mrs Njiorwhor who was a two term executive member of the NGE and the Acting Editor of the Tide Daily, passed away last Saturday after a brief illness.
At the Tide, Isah described Mrs Njiorwhor as a committed member of the NGE whose demise was most painful and tragic to the Guild.
The Guilld President said Mrs Njiorwhor was one who bore grudges against no one even in unfavourable situation as the last biennial convention of the guild in Kano revealed.
The president explained that she was sitting with one of her challengers in her usual jovial manner without any betrayal of bitter emotions.
He said her death was a painful loss not only to her family but the NGE and prayed that God will give her soul eternal rest.
In his response, the General Manager of the Time Newspaper, Mr Ernest Chinwo said the visit of the NGE showed that Njiorwhor made impact not only on the Tide alone
Chinwo said that she was one very passionate,committed and dedicated to the operations of the job till her last day adding that her death was a big loss not only to the Tide but to the entire media industry.
At the Family house , the Guild President conveyed the sincere condolences of the NGE to the husband of the deceased, Mr Promise Chindah Njiorwhor.
Isah who extolled the humane qualities of Mrs Njiorwhor prayed God to grant the family the fortitude they need to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding, Njiorwhor nararated the last moments of his wife and said she was ever loving and dependable saying he lacked words to describe her good nature.
Other highlights of the visit include the signing of condolence registers.
Later in the day, the NGE delegation attended the Service of Songs and Night of Tribute at the home of Mrs Njiorwhor where the President of the Guild who was represented by the Vice President East, Mr Sam Egballa. said the death of Njiorwhor was a sad reminder of the lesson of the vanity of life.
He urged the gathering to turn to God remembering that death is inevitable.
