The first Haitian-American queen is to be crowned in Nigeria. Marie Antoinette Jean Pierre Theligene will be granted the title of Bmazazhi by the Karu Traditional Council of Nasarawa State in September.
The title would be bestowed upon her by the traditional ruler Esu Karu of Karu L.G.A,His Majesty,H.R.H Pharm. Luka Panya Baba.
Marie Antoinette Jean Pierre is the President of Valley of Love Ministries, a non-profit organization based in Riviera beach,Florida.
The Valley of Love Ministries is a 501 c3 non-profit organization which was established in 2004.
Its mission is to meet the Physical,Emotional and Spiritual needs of the less fortunate everywhere especially in Florida where it is based.
Marie A. Jean Pierre joined this organization in 2010, determined to also support the less fortunate in Riviera beach Florida after devoting her time to orphans in Haiti.
Dr. John John Uket, Vice President of the Valley of Love Ministries in Nigeria urged Nigerians to engage in this historic event and was also optimistic of global support.
He stated that the event would be essential to development of world nations because it is based on humanitarian grounds.
He hinted at a possible Humanitarian conference which would precede the coronation.
Dr. John John Uket mentioned that the event would hold at the Nicon Luxury hotel in Abuja and would bear the theme “Innovative Improvement of West Africa’s Largest Refugees Settlement.”
He believes that this event would spark discussions on leveraging opportunities for humanitarians.
He said “This event would outline projects for Cameroonian refugees in parts of Nigeria.”
Some places in Nigeria with Cameroonian refuge presence in Nigeria include Benue, Akampa, Ogoja etc.There are also Internally Displaced Person camps found in North Eastern Nigeria.
He was optimistic that the event shall foster networking, shared values, peer learning as well as discussions.
The planning committee at Karu has assured participants that the event would be colourful.
They added that they would also be prepared to achieve the goals of the event.
