Birthdays are special days in the life of human beings irrespective of age, gender and social standing. Meaningful messages expressing best wishes, some reflective of the person’ s good nature , others simply prayers for good things such as long life, promotion and prosperity are conveyed to the celebrant on the occasion by family ,friends and neighbours.
To Mama Mary Amaechi, who is 79 today, Saturday 28th of August,2021, It would be another day of thanksgiving to God for adding another year to her age.
According to her, the new age would rekindle her spirit of philanthropy to the less privileged and more than ever ,raise her faith in God.
Mama was born on August 28,1939 to Mr Obadiah and Mrs Bernice Chukwu of Obohia in Omubulo in Egbeda,Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Apart from being the mother of many children including the Minister for Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi., Mama Mary is hard working and mother to children who are not biologically related to her hence, her title in the church ( Ezinne). meaning ‘Good Mother.’
At 79, Ezinne’ is looking forward to doing more good things even as she is hopeful for better days ahead.
When asked what she wished for in her new age, mama who has moved an inch closer to being an octogenarian, said she looked forward to better life for the downtrodden and would not relent in her wishes for God’s favour on her children and grandchildren as well as God’s intervention to help Nigeria overcome the challenges of insecurity and poverty.
That is not all. Her family and friends have concluded arrangement to give Mama a befitting birthday and she looked forward with optimism to seeing all her loved ones.
According to her son,Uchenna, the birthday is scheduled to hold at 18 Haile Selassie street, Asokoro Abuja by 1p m.
