The Nigerian Movement For Peace and Development is to partner with Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution on entrenching Peace and Unity in the country.
The Convener, Mr Moses Momoh, disclosed this in Abuja after a meeting with officials of the agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We had a very fruitful meeting where the officials of the agency assured us of their readiness to collaborate with us to achieve our desired goal in of staging a Peace Campaign across the country”.
Mr Momoh explained that the campaign is geared towards promoting unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
The Convener of the Nigerian Movement for Peace and Development said the main objective of the group was to ensure that Nigeria remained as one entity.
“We are saying that there must be peace in Nigeria. Let us come back to the drawing board, to chart a course for peace.”
“For us, we are preachers of peace, we are better off as one nation than we divide”
“We intend to kick-start the campaign by preaching peace, meeting our founding fathers and heroes, who are our past leaders, we will talk to them so that they can give us their blessings”
Mr Momoh, also reiterated his appeal to the Youths to join in the campaign for peace in Nigeria.”
The Institute officials led by Dr Bosede Awodola, thanked the team for the visit and expressed confidence in the peace campaign to promote Unity, love and peaceful Co-existence in Nigeria.
