Gunmen have killed an Assistant Superintendent of Police ( ASP) MR. MAWO along Okwale,Taabaa road in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Mr Mawo, a native of Okwale was reportedly ambushed and shot to death on Sunday,19th September,2021 by the gunmen while on his way to work in Bori, Headquarters of the Local Government Area.
Eye witness account revealed that the death of the police office has sent panic to Taabaa and neighbouring communities for fear of the unknown.
Although no report of any reprisal by law enforcement agents,our correspondent reports that residents are tensed and the area is like a ghost town as markets, stores and residential buildings have been forced to shut down by 5 p m
