The Police Command in Kwara State on Saturday arrested a suspected ritualist, Alade James , for killing a 9-year-old girl, Faith Samuel of Onireke area in Offa Local Governnent Area of the state.
James, a middle age man of Alawe compound Offa,was caught in the process of allegedly burying the corpse at Ikotun area of Offa.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Command , SP Okasanmi Ajayi,said preliminary investigation in the case showed that the suspect killed the deceased for money ritual, adding that the suspect buried the corpse with a #1,000 note.
Ajayi further disclosed that the remains of the deceased had been recovered and deposited for autopsy at the mortuary after a medical doctor certified the victim dead.
” The suspect confessed to the killing for money making ritual. The parents of the deceased have been contacted while the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command, CP Tuesday Assayomo, has ordered a discreet investigation into the murder.”
