ANASO OSIMA CHARLES
One of the frontline presenters on 991 Fm Radio, the voice of experience is Amaso Osima Charles aka MAGNIFICENT. Amaso is aptly described as an easy going lady who expresses joyful disposition regardless of tough challenges .
Amaso was born on the 11th of December., to the family of late Osima Abbot Charles Wokoma of Wokoma polo and Mrs Ekeniba Abbot Wokoma ( nee Samuel- Horsfall both of Buguma City. When her father passed away in 1980, the responsibility of taking care of the children fell solely and firmly on her mother. Till date,she caters to the wellbeing of her children.
Amaso is the fourth child and the fourth girl in a family of six. She had. her basic education at the Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Grammar School,Elelenwo( ACMGS) and holds a. Bachelor of Science ( B.sc) Degree in Secretarial Administration. and Post Graduate Diploma ( PGD) in Mass Communication both at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology ( RSUST) now RSU.. Amaso took her quest of higher learning to the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni Graduate School and was conferred a Masters of Arts ( M. A) in Communicarion. In 2009, Amaso attended the Radio Nigeria Basic Presentation Certificate Programme and passed with distinction.
: Amaso had her first work experience at the the Rivers State News Paper Corporation ( RSNC from 1994-1996. She was transferred to the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation late 1996 till date. Amaso,a beauty and brain delivers major news bulletins broadcast on the station flawlessly and passionately.hence her pet name the” Magnificent” Her personality programme” Praise Vehicle” airs every Sunday from 12.30-2pm. With inspirational and interactive gospel content, the program aims to encourage listeners to be joyful and have faith in God despite their circumstances.
Amaso veered into broadcasting fully inspired by ace TV screen goddesses like.. Sienne Allwell Brown and Ruth Benemesia Opia. ” I always admired the panache and finesse with which they presented the news,” she said
At Radio Rivers, Amaso was inspired by another ace broadcaster, Eric Uzoma alias Fricky Ricky whom she called ” the”Maestro”, and The God Father” “
Like her other DCA colleagues, Amaso handles Master of Ceremony ( MC) jobs at weddings, Birthdays, Service of Songs and Church events
Amaso is a good Christian, kind and charitable. she however finds time to socialize, and engages in what makes her feel her happy She loves reading and listening to music expecially Reggae and Gospel nusic. She is a lover of traditional food and savours Eba and Okro soup. Her best drinks are Baileys , Amarula and. Guinness stout.. Amaso is ever so thankful to God for her daughter. Gold Kio. aka.
