As the Peoples Democratic party Natiinal Executive Council holds, a Group, Door2Door For PDP has pledged support for the prescriptions of the Zoning Committee in the interest of the party.
A statement by the National Coordinator, Hon. James Oche, on behalf of the Executive Council and representatives of the Zonal and State Executive Councils of Door2Door for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from across the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reached the decision after its Emergency Congress in Abuja.
It says the group wishes to ratify and publicly declare its full backing for the decision of the Zoning Committee of the party, particularly to have its National Chairman from the North.
In tandem with this development, the Door2Door for PDP wishes to, in the wake of the NEC Meeting of the Party coming up a few hours from now, urge the party hierarchy to stick to the commendable prescriptions of the Zoning Committee in the interest of justice, fair play and readiness for victory at the forthcoming general election.
It is the conviction of the Door2Door for PDP that a Northern Chairman, particularly a tested and trusted, matured, consistent leader from the North Central region is most capable of steering the affairs of the party to victory at all levels.
Door2Door notes that, those acting in opposition to the most considerate prescriptions of the Zoning Committee do not have the overall interest of the party at heart and are only seeking parochial, selfish and clandestine motives that must be defied for the party to take the center stage in the political underpinnings in the buildup to repositioning the party for greater exploits.
The Zoning Committee, Door2Door notes it is a constitutional provision of the party adhered to by the NEC and saddled them with the responsibility of zoning party positions which same has been diligently executed to the admiration of all true, loving and affectionate members and supporters of this great party and it would amount to a generational betrayal for the NEC to be swayed or influenced to take a contrary view.
Door2Door appreciates the Governors forum of the party whose disposition, exploits and commitment has remained in the best interest of the party and has so far yielded desired results.
In the build up to the next political interface, the party must eschew every likelihood of error as political opponents are waiting keenly to exploit any loopholes that would be created. A reason the NEC must preserve the prescription of the party committee on zoning.
While looking forward to an eventful and successful NEC, Door2Door expresses high hopes in positive outcomes, especially due consideration of where what should go. Door2Door for PDP wishes the Party hierarchy a successful meeting.
