President Muhammadu Buhari has approved February 2022 for the All Progressives Congress APC National Convention.
Governor of Kebbi State,Atiku Bagudu announced this on Monday after a meeting of Progressives Governors with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja..
The President’s decision on the National Convention was the result of a meeting of the APC governors on Sunday night at the Kebbi Governor’ lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The governors had passed a vote of confidence on the Governor Mai Mala Buni- led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Commitee and discussed extensively, the National Convention which had drawn much criticism from some members of the party following its failure to hold two years after the mandate to organize it was given to the Buni-led Commitee .
Agitators of the Buni- must go campaign included All Progressives Youth Movement and several groups and individuals.
The announcement of a date has calmed down frayed nerves and aroused sleepy titans to wake up.
A party faithful who spoke to current time said’ This is what we have been waiting for. Now that the president has said that it would hold in February,no one can shift it again” she said.
