The attention of the Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation has been drawn to the emotional outburst of its former President Ms. Queen Uboh.
- While it may not be necessary to react to her television interview because of the sobriety nature in the Para Powerlifting family at the moment, it is important however to set the record straight.
- Paul Kehinde died on Thursday 18th November, 2021 and got buried on Friday 19th November, 2021 at the prerogative of his family.
- Even at that, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation sent a delegation comprising the Secretary General of the Federation (Mr. Peter Njoku) and some Board Members of the Federation to Mr. Paul Kehinde’s burial.
- The outburst of Ms. Queen Uboh was an attempt to create confusion and disunity in the Para Powerlifting Family, in addition to causing a strain in the relationship between the Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (a relationship that has been so cordial since the exit of Ms. Queen Uboh as President of the Para Powerlifting Federation).
- It is evident from Queen Uboh’s television interview that she is unaware of the World Anti-Doping Code and Protocol of athletes testing, result analysis and sanctions on athletes who have infringed on Anti-Doping rules, even though she was a President of the Federation.
The Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation hereby urges the public to disregard the tantrums from Ms. Queen Uboh as her intentions are mischievous arising from her regret in having lost her leadership position in the board of the Federation.
