The DPO, Fugar Divisional Command in Edo State, CSP Ishaq Aliu, has regained freedom after 6 days in Captivity.
CSP Ishaq Aliu was abducted last week Friday along Agenebode – Auchi old road on his way to Fugar, his duty post.
The Edo State Police Command, which confirmed the release of the DPO, said that no ransome was paid.
CSP Aliu was released by his abductors about 8:00pm on Thursday around a village, called Imiegbha in Etsako West local Government area.
The Fugar community, through its socio cultural group, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, mobilised human and material resources at its disposal especially the local vigilante Squad which worked in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure his safe rescue and freedom unhurt.
Our Correspondent reports that CSP Aliu wasn’t tortured but had some wounds as a result of the bush parts they trecked.
Some people have been arrested in connection with the abduction and are currently being interrogated to determine the level of their involvement.
