Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barr George Ariolu has beckoned on Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to avail himself of the position of the president of Nigeria ahead of 2023 general election.
Ariolu said that the call became neccessary as Nigerians nationwide have demonstred disatisfaction with the with governance at the center..
The Council Chairman who made the call on Tuesday, as Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commissioned the 7.3m wide dual carriageway on Tombia Extension road of GRA, Port Harcourt. added that Obio/Akpor is the most beneficiary of Governor Wike’s urban renewal programs, which he described as huge.
He explained further that Obio/Akpor as a city council has been fused into the capital city of Rivers State through the urban renewal programs and projects of Governor Wike.
Barr Ariolu, while calling on Governor Wike to accept the yearnings of Rivers people and indeed Nigerians to contest for the president of the federation in 2023, said that as a committed and patriotic citizen, the governor will replicate his achievements across the country..
Meanwhile,Governor Wike while addressing the mammoth crowd, advised the Ministry of Works to ensure that there is always an updated record showing the state of projects before and after construction so that people can appreciate the good works of the State government.
He further commended the General overseer of Royal House of Grace International Church, Apostle Zilly Aggrey for complying with the state government directives over expansion and construction of the Tombia Extension road.
The Governor also thanked the people of Rumueme for cooperating with both government and construction giants, Julius Berger during the construction of the dual carriageway, adding that no amount of compensation by the government would have been enough to re build the demolished properties of members of the community.
, “One of the communities that has always supported PDP is Rumueme Community, it is a community that when they say they are with you, they are with you. It is a community that you can go home and sleep, to God be the glory, they have seen the fruit of supporting PDP.”
Governor Wike, expressing joy, commended Julius Berger for the completion of the Tombia Extension dual carriageway as well as other projects in the state, as he maintained that the road wouldl be better appreciated at nights as it is well lit to serve the purpose for which it was constructed.
Performing the commissioning of the Dualisied Tombia Street Extension ,Governor Ugwuanyi described Wike as “the best of the best in projects implementation” and a source of pride to the Peoples Democratic Party .
The dualised Tombia Street is a major vein that connects Aba and Ikwerre Roads which are two of the most critical roads in the Port Harcourt metropolis.
