As part of Guards Brigade’s activities marking the climax of Exercise Enduring Peace in the Federal Capital Territory and to ensure synergy among the various security Agencies operating within Abuja and environs, 176 Guards Battalion, has organized a one day Inter –Agency seminar with the theme “ Effective Emergency Response System Through Enhanced Inter Agency Cooperation: A Panacea to The Dynamic Nature of Contemporary Security Threats”.
The Seminar which is aimed at broadening the knowledge of Security operatives operating in a joint environment through synergy and effective intelligence sharing according to the Commanding Officer, 176 Guards Battalion Lt Col Julius Kolawole Adisa, was timely and also in tandem with the Chief of Army Staff’s Vision which is to have “A Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Mission Within A Joint Environment In Defence of Nigeria”. He noted that since the Brigade Flagged off the Exercise within the Federal Capital Territory, criminals operating along the Abuja Lokoja high way and some communities within the FCT have been degraded while relative peace and security has been restored in several communities in addition to several positive achievements which have been as a result of the strong synergy between the Nigerian Army and other sister agencies working in unison to achieve the expected security results.
The Senior Officer also observed that the recent rescue of the University of Abuja alongside others who were freed by the combine security operatives in Gwagwalada forest is an indication that joint collaboration is the way forward towards having a peaceful and secured society. In the same vein, the Battalion also flagged off a free medical outreach at Kasuwan Dere Community as well as free books donation to Paikon Kore LEA Primary School also in Gwagwalada Community as part of its Cooperate social Responsibility to impact positively in its host community.
Speaking at the events, the Army Headquarters Department of Civil Military Affairs Team Led by Col Cyriacus Osuagwu, commended the Brigade for ensuring that the people that make the various segment of our society are carried along in the Brigade’s scheme of things especially the various security agencies which has played key role in the security of the Federal Capital Territory. He urged that the synergy which has yeilded positive remarkable result be sustained so that the society would enjoy peace and progres as expected. Col Osuagwu also commended the various security agencies for their supports to the Brigade and the Nigerian Army at large stressing that the knowledge gained at the Inter Agency seminar should also be passed down to the subordinates at the various Agencie’s lower cadre.
The Seminar was well attended by all the various security agencies operating within the Federal Capital Territory while the Free medical outreach was also attended by the aged and the needy in Gwagwalada community.
