A Police traffic warden attached to Elekahia/Stadium road junction in Port Harcourt, Sergeant Godstime Nwuju has been honored by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom and Rotary club of Port Harcourt Spring Gardens for his outstanding performance in traffic management.
The Rotary International District Nine One, Four One, Assistant Governor Zone six, Chidi Okoro while presenting the Vocational Service Award to the Police Warden during a joint Christmas Party of both clubs in Port Harcourt, said Rotary appreciates people who promote peace through their jobs.
“One of the areas of focus of Rotary is Peace Building and conflict resolution and the way he does his job is very peaceful. Controlling the traffic peacefully thereby engendering peace in the society and makes an orderly flow of traffic without conflict. For these two clubs to come together to give an award of recognition to this man is rare. He deserves it”, AG Chidi Okoro said.
The President of the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom, Sofiri Gladstone-Dappa said the award recognition to the Police Warden, Sergeant Godstime Nwuju is to encourage people to use their vocation to impact positively to the society and the world at large.
“His diligence, his commitment to his duties and ability to add joy to what he’s doing. So Rotary uses their vocation/occupation to affect the society positively. Sergeant Godstime Nwuju fits into this cadre, that’s why as a club we jointly picked him to satisfied that area of focus in Rotary. This is also to encourage others to continue to use their vocation to bring peace in the society,” President Sofiri Dappa said.
The Police Sergeant Warden Godstime Nwuju described the award recognition by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Rebisi Kingdom and Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Spring Place as a motivation and a Christmas gift to him and his family.
