The Police in Niger State have confirmed that 13 people lost their lives when bandits attacked the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State on Tuesday.
Spokesman of the Command in the state,Wasiu Abiodun clarified that the number of deaths in the incident was 13 and not 37 as reported
Abiodun said that the bandits attacked the farmers who were harvesting crops in their farms in Nukundna village in Shiroro Local Government Area.
The attack on the farmers in the community comes in the middle of military offensive against bandits in the local government area.
Reacting to the incident, Governor Bello said killing of farmers could trigger food scarcity in the state.
