,…. Set up panel to probe allegation
The Rivers State Police Command said it has redeployed the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) alleged to own an illegal refinery in the state.
In a statement on Sunday signed by the Acting State Police Public Relations Officer,,DSP Grace Iringe- Koko, the Command said it has also set up a panel headed by an assistant commissioner of Police to investigate the matter.
According to the statement, the outcome of the investigation shall be made public and the officer will be punished appropriately if the allegations are confirmed.

Commissioner of Police,Eboka Friday reiterated the support of the Command to the Rivers State Government in its war against illegal bunkering and assured that the command will not spare any indicted person no matter how highly placed.
Governor Wike had last week demanded the deployment of a DPO in Rumuji in Emohua Local Government Area of the state for allegedly owning an illegal refinery.
The governor also demanded the redeployment of NSCDC Officer heading the anti- vandal unit for aiding illegal refiners in the state.
