Bandits on Wednesday, killed a Divisional Police Officer , A. Rano, in Jibia local government area of Katsina State during an attack on Magama area of Jibia town.
The bandits reportedly in their numbers carrying arms laid siege to the community in the early hours of the morning with a mission to kidnap the family of a businessman , Alhaji Lauwali Magama.
It was gathered that neighbours around the area alerted the security agents and the vigilante groups who mobilised and resisted the bandits but needed reinforcement .
In an effort to bring in more police officers to the area, the vehicle in which the DPO ,Rano was travelling was attacked by the fire power of the bandits killing them instantly.
Magama is a border town linking Katsina with Niger Republic.
Katsina is the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari. The state is having its share of being a haven of bandits and their evil activities.
