
State Fiscal Transparency , Accountability and Sustainabilty (SFTAS) a project initiated by the Federal Government in collaboration with the World Bank, aimed to strengthen fiscal transparency, accountability, and sustainability in the participating states.
has granted 13 billion Naira to the Jigawa State Government for its excellent performance in providing projects that are beneficial to the people in the state.
This was disclosed by the
Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar when he received SFTAS Monitoring team who paid him a courtesy call at Government House Dutse.
He said that the grant which was in two installments was as a result of Jigawa State being the best performing state throughout the Federation.
The Governor said the success of achieving this was based on his administration’s determination of using its Human Resources within the state without involving or employing the services of consultants which made the government to save more than 2.7 billion Naira on the project.
Governor Badaru says
Jigawa State is the least in terms of internal and external borrowing running an all inclusive government that provide infrastructural development and pay workers salaries and pension as and when due as a result of transparency and accountability.
