As part of efforts to build capacity of Editors in Nigeria, the Nigerian Guild of Editors continues its town hall meeting/ Worksop in North Central Zone, Abuja.
A statement by the President, Mustapha Isah and General Secretary, Iyobosa Uwagiaren, says the town hall meeting and two day Workshop with the theme : Agenda Setting for Sustainable Democratic Culture, will hold from the 3rd – 5th March, 2022.
“The main objective of the Town Hall Meeting/Workshop, which is supported by the US Embassy in Nigeria, will provide a platform for editors to be reminded of the sacred duties they are tasked to perform by the constitution on behalf of the citizens”, the statement noted.
It said that the workshop would draw copious examples from advanced democracies around the world in order to instil in them the need to perform these duties with the highest form of standard and sense of responsibility.
Some selected civil society groups and Fifty Editors are expected to participate in the Town Hall Meeting/Workshop.
