The formal inauguration and membership drive of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters in the South-South Zone holds in Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital on Friday, February 25, 2022.
Chairman, Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, Zone F, Mr. Frederick Fabor, who announced this in a statement issued in Yenagoa, said the event will be hosted by the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Port Harcourt Network Centre.
The launch scheduled for NTA multipurpose hall, Mgbuoba, along Choba Road begins at 10am.
Mr John Ugbe, Chairman of BON and Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice Nigeria Limited and the Executive Secretary, Dr Yemisi Bamgbose are also expected at the Zonal launch.
The statement further urged general managers, managing directors and chief executive officers of all private, public, commercial and community electronic media houses in the South-South to attend the historic event.
The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters is to serve as the regulatory body for the practice of broadcasting as a profession.
