In the spirit of love, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Creek View fed over five hundred persons with packs of food and drinks on the streets of Port Harcourt metropolis.
Most of the beneficiaries were major road and street hawkers, beggars, commercial drivers and passers-by around Rumuomasi, Stadium road and Elekahia axis.
President of the Rotary Club ,Uzodinma Akwarandu said the gesture was carried out in collaboration with Crystal Ushers to show love on the streets.
Rotarian Akwarandu in company of some members of the club said “We have come to celebrate love memorable for people on the streets who do not understand what it’s really like to be loved by this simple demonstration. It also passed a message to them that it’s profitable to be peaceful especially while carrying out their daily activities on the streets. This love shown here can be shown else where, but we feel this is an integral aspect relating with people that are are commoners in the society. We want to make live easier for them. This is part of also bringing peace in our local community”.
On his part, CEO of Crystal Ushers, Solomon Wai-Ogosu commended the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Creek View for the support to realize the project.
Solomon Wai-Ogosu said Crystal Ushers is Happy to partner, to bring smiles on the faces of the commoner on the streets who has given up on Love.
“This will surely reignite love and happiness in the souls of these people. This gesture will also promote peace and joy among them. We are happy we were able to make their day with this token”, Wai-Ogosu said.
